Three Helpful Apps for New Homeowners in Flintshire 🏡

There’s nothing quite like becoming a homeowner for the first time. Stepping over the threshold into a place you can call your own is one of life’s memorable moments. However, as well as coming with a host of benefits, home ownership also comes with responsibilities.

Unlike renting, where someone else handles the maintenance and most of the upkeep, these duties now fall to you as the owner.

Thankfully, many useful apps are available to make life easier and less stressful for homeowners. Here are three of the best.

1)    Centriq
This clever home maintenance app means you’ll never have to search high and low for an appliance manual again. Simply scan the product label on an appliance or home gadget, and as quick as a flash, you’ll have the user manual, warranty and relevant store receipt at your fingertips.
The app will also show you where to source replacement parts and find relevant DIY videos on Google and YouTube.
You can also use the app to create a maintenance schedule so you never forget to water the plants, book a boiler check or bleed the radiators.

2)    Houzz
Before leaping into a renovation project, first do a little planning with the Houzz app.
The platform is a great place to source interior design ideas or share your plans with friends and family.
You can also create 3D room layouts complete with colour schemes and furniture so you can fine-tune your designs.
Once you’ve decided on the work you want to do, you can then connect, via the app, with local tradespeople and architects.

3)    Nextdoor
Years ago, people used to chat over the garden fence or have a natter while waiting in the supermarket queue.
These days, most of those conversations take place online on Nextdoor, a hyper-local social network.
If you’re looking for a reliable plumber or a restaurant recommendation or wondering if the cat that’s always hanging out in your garden is a stray, then Nextdoor can help. There’s also an online marketplace where people list items they’re looking to sell or give away.

As with any form of social media, however, think before you post. Never reveal personal information, such as when you’re going on holiday.
